Ten days of bliss it was, but being back home isn't bad either. As my first task home, I turned the heat on in the studio. I'm really looking forward to getting back to work, although I didn't miss not working. Ten days in Maui is perfect, but I may be tempted to add a day or two next time.

Deciding On Where To Go On Vacation

Going on vacation is great and I don?t think there is anyone out there that will complain about having to choose a destination to go to for their trip. What people do tend to moan about is the time and thought it takes to decide on the best place to go. Here are a few tips at making your vacation not only an enjoyable one for everyone but also an affordable one. This leads nicely onto my first point.

The Price

Vacations can be expensive; there is no doubt about that. Before you even start looking for somewhere to take your vacation you need to sit down and discuss finance with the people you are travelling with. There is no point thinking about that dream trip to Orlando if you are not able to afford it, however do not discount saving really hard for another year to make the trip possible. One you have a set budget it is important that you do not waver from it or it could really make paying for everything else impossible.

It is also important to take everything into consideration when you are considering your finance options and you will be surprised on how many people forget that they will need a lot of money for food and gifts.

The Location

Once you have your money sorted you can now sit down as a group and discuss the location that you all want to visit. For example if you are going away as a family then I would recommend discussing it with everyone rather than making a decision yourself and making everyone follow your plans. Make it fun for the kids too, come up with a couple of options and let them choose which destination they would like to see.

Not only is it a lot more fun having everyone deciding on the destination you are heading to but it usually means you will get to see the world a bit more instead of travelling to the same destination every single year.

Timing

The key thing to remember about choosing the destination is that you should take your time with it, rushing a decision like this could result in a waste of money and many disappointed people on vacation.

The most important part of choosing the perfect destination is to have a good time, this always needs to be top of the list!
